The impact you'll make:

Reporting to the Director of Distribution and Logistics, the Trade Compliance Specialist’s role is essential in supporting the import/export of finished goods and raw materials globally. This role supports all functions related to tariff classification, country of origin, duty drawback and overall compliance. 

All Saje Team Members are responsible for contributing to Saje’s culture and maintaining a positive environment for themselves and their peers.

What you'll do:

  • Follow, recommend and implement improvements to our trade compliance program infrastructure. 
  • Support the Director of Distribution and Logistics in the establishment of comprehensive policies, procedures, training programs, and monitoring systems related to Trade and Compliance.  
  • Research and provide guidance on HTS classification, country of origin, and other critical trade compliance functions.  
  • Identify and implement compliance improvements and trade-saving opportunities. 
  • Ensure alignment with company objectives and compliance requirements. 
  • Support internal audit procedures to ensure compliance with CBSA/CBP and other government agencies. 
  • Create customs-related documentation for import/export, ensuring smooth transitions and responding to customs broker inquiries. 
  • Assist with reconciliation processes related to Customs Valuation Program and duty drawback regulations. 
  • Develop strategies to streamline cross-border operations and reduce delays. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, customs brokers, and distribution centers.  

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Proven experience in trade compliance, customs regulations, and international trade. 
  • Proficiency in HTS classification, country of origin determinations, and other critical trade compliance functions. Familiarity with customs valuation and duty drawback regulations. 
  • Strong ability to research, analyze, and provide guidance on complex trade compliance issues. 
  • Proven track record of identifying and implementing compliance improvements and trade-saving opportunities. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to support the establishment of policies, procedures, training programs, and monitoring systems. 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, customs brokers, and distribution centers.  
  • Meticulous attention to detail to support internal audit procedures and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and implement compliance improvements. 
  • Professional certification in trade compliance e.g., Certified Customs Specialist, Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) preferred.
  • Experience with CBSA/CBP regulations is highly desirable. 
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade or a related field would be an asset.

The compensation range for this position is from $70,000– 80,000 annually. Base pay is dependent to market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Other components of our total rewards offerings include:
